Audi at Design Shanghai 2024

For Audi’s booth at the 2024 Design Shanghai convention, RedRabbit crafted an interactive experience spotlighting Audi’s innovative tail and headlights. Audi enables the users of their new Audi Q6L to select custom light signatures, infusing the car with unique personality. Under the theme “Communicate with Light", we developed an AI-powered experience where guests converse with an AI, its responses visualized through dynamic light patterns on the ceiling. Using an iPad app, we digitized the user’s voice, processed it via an LLM for natural dialogue, and generated a lifelike voice with text-to-speech technology—all seamlessly displayed as text in a chat view on the iPad.

The experience integrated a TouchDesigner media server to stream audio and control ceiling LEDs via Art-Net, synchronizing visuals with the AI’s voice. To ensure flawless performance, all servers operated locally, supporting both English and Chinese languages. This fusion of cutting-edge AI, lighting design, and user interaction showcased RedRabbit’s ability to support Audi’s vision at Design Shanghai.
